Soft Kitty

hat: homemade gift; shirt: TJ Maxx; leggings: Forever 21;
bag (seen in last photo): Nine West; shoes: Converse

This is what I wore on Thanksgiving, and even though it isn't remotely festive, I was really into the edginess of this outfit. I'd also like to share how excited I was when my dog cooperated for these pictures. She's usually so annoying around cameras (every time I pull out my phone or point a camera at her, she turns her head in the other direction), so I was very pleased when she just sat and behaved for two minutes. What can I say? I'm grateful for the little things.

Apple Pie

sweater: Free People; skirt: eBay; tights: Kohl's; shoes: Unisa

It's almost Thanksgiving! I don't think anyone is capable of comprehending how excited I am for tremendous amounts of food (and giving thanks-- for all my food). Tomorrow I'm going Thanksgiving shopping with my mother and my plan is to RAID the grocery store. However, in my family, we don't eat a traditional meal for Thanksgiving. We eat what we call "hot pot" (that's a direct translation from the Chinese name, but I think it's known more commonly as shabu shabu). It's honestly one of my favorite things-- imagine a little buffet in your dining room. I'M EXCITED. I just love food so much. Just as my family has our own take on Thanksgiving, (smooth transition) this is my take on a festive outfit. While the sweater and the boots are very traditional for any autumn outfit, this denim skirt-all adds a very unique and girly dynamic. I also feel very seasonal wearing this soft cream color, even though cream isn't a well-known holiday color. It's just a nice little touch though, like whipped cream on a pie. Because it all comes full circle. Pi. Pie. Circle. Yeah? Okay, bye.

please excuse my dog

Feminine Dynamic

cardigan: Forever 21; shirt: TJ Maxx; dress: Forever 21;
socks: Kohl's; shoes: Guess

This is one of those outfits where I randomly layered things and kind of loved how it turned out. From the chambray top and knit cardigan to the floral,chevron, and polka-dot prints, this outfit contains so many elements, but still manages to convey an overall feminine vibe.

Romantic

scarf: H&M; shirt: American Eagle Outfitters;
skirt: ASOS; tights: Kohl's; boots: Unisa

I always think of myself as somewhat Romantic even though it doesn't really flow with my slightly cynical outlook on life and bitter personality. Things are always so extravagant (and a little strange) in my head, and often, that's how I come up with outfits. The scarf and the midi skirt really connote Romanticism, and I find myself appreciating the vibe-- especially as the weather becomes more moody and dramatic. P.S. I'm also happy because I discovered that I can keep these tights (I love the pattern, but there's a huge tear right above my knee) to wear with this skirt. Whoo!

School Girl

shirt: Love Tree; cardigan: miscellaneous boutique;
skirt: Target; socks: Kohl's; shoes: Guess

I really liked wearing this outfit because it felt really unique and playful. The mixed prints are kind of crazy, but in a way that makes me feel special. Everyone should feel special. Sometimes I just feel like doing a little word vomit. Actually, I think that's all I do here... I hope it comes off as endearing. Probably not.

Red Dress and Black Boots

jacket: hand-me-down; dress: Forever 21; boots: Macy's

I got new boots! When I look in the mirror, these boots make me look taller (when I wear skirts, that is), but I'm looking at these photos and thinking that I look shorter. Oh well. Don't let other people judge you! Be proud of your height. The world needs short people, medium-sized people, and tall people. Always remember that YOU are CONTRIBUTING to society in your own special way. #inspirationwithkuo Anyway, I'm kind of loving this look because it seems seasonally appropriate. Not necessarily festive, but I feel so autumnal wearing boots and anything red.

The Homeless Business Man Look

shirt (under): Kohl's; shirt (top): thrifted;
leggings: Forever 21; shoes: Cathy Jean

Okay, so I've had this outfit laid out for almost a week now, but I could never wear it because it was too hot. Luckily, the weather is finally starting to resemble not mid-July, and I can finally start wearing layers! Knock on wood... Speaking of which, I am extremely superstitious. Just thought I'd share that bit about myself. Totally irrelevant, but I'm just in a sharing irrelevant facts about myself kind of mood. Anyway, back to this outfit. I wanted to contrast the business-like bun, button down shirt, and heels with the lazy sweatshirt-tee and leggings. The thing about this sweatshirt-tee is that it actually is really over-sized, so when I wear it, I have to be careful not to look like a hobo. Relevant information? Not so sure... But it's there now, so we're all just going to have to cope. Sorry about that.

Autumn Brights

sweater: Lucky; overalls: thrifted; tights: Kohl's; shoes: Call it Spring

Okay, so I haven't posted in a while-- sorry about that! It's just that for a while now I've kind of struggled with outfit inspiration. I think it's because I was all ready for fall outfits, but then every time I checked the weather and it was 80 degrees outside. Like there was this conflict between what I wanted to wear and what I could wear. MOTHER NATURE WAS GIVING ME A DRESS CODE. I don't know. I've also been struggling with individual style, because I was looking through some of my outfit posts and feeling like they weren't very unique or interesting. Overall, I just felt frustrated with my wardrobe and this blog. HOWEVER, I feel like things are getting somewhat better. This past Sunday, I did a complete cleaning of my room which included throwing away a lot of old crap (such as flavored lip glosses from five years ago) and organizing my closet. Sorting through my clothes reminded me of the variety of pieces that are in my wardrobe. I even got excited and planned a few outfits, so hopefully things will make a turn for the better. We'll see!

Romping Around

jacket: Marc Jacobs; romper: i.JOAH; shoes: Converse

I don't have time to write much, but I just wanted to point out these
patterns and textures. They're so beautiful together, aren't they?
