Cotton Candy

t-shirt: original by me; skirt: Target; socks: Kohl's;
purse: BCBGeneration; shoes: DSW

If I'm being completely honest, I didn't realize how closely I resemble cotton candy until just now. But you know what? Cotton candy is cool. With the knee socks and the ankle boots, I was trying to do a slow transition into fall, but considering the fact that I look like a bowl of sherbet, I think I failed. However, I was very excited to bring back my knee socks after their long summer hiatus. Fun fact: I have around twenty pairs of knee socks. It's kind of unhealthy, but whatever. I'm just excited that I'll be getting to wear them more often over the next few months because it's finally time for me to start getting excited for fall fashion. Actually, what really excited me was Jenn Im (clothesencounters) on YouTube. Her videos have me all hyped up for layering and black tights-- ooh! IT'S EXCITING.

Classic Mod

cardigan: boutique; top: Laundry by Shelli Segal;
shorts: Lamb & Flag; shoes: Converse

Today's guest is Kylie! Kylie has been featured on my blog a few times, and if you've seen those posts, then you know that her style is very modern. This outfit is no different, but the neutral tone cardigan and the denim add a very classic touch. The combination brings me to that mid-October weather we get in Southern California where it's still warm enough for shorts, but cardigans gradually become more and more necessary.

A-Line Layer

graphic top: original by me; pink top: Banana Republic;
skirt: eBay+DIY; shoes: Guess

Something about this layering reminds me of pre-school, but I stuck with it anyway! For some reason, I really like a-line dresses and tops, even though they don't always compliment my frame. I feel cool wearing a-line pieces, so I guess the fact that they look a little off doesn't really matter. Fashion is really just about wearing what feels good, isn't it?

50th Post Special : Bloopers

It doesn't feel like I've been blogging for that long, but here I am writing my 50th post! To mark the event, I thought it would be fun to do a bloopers post. Hope this amuses you somewhat!

^^Okay, so this one's less of a blooper and more of a weird
thing I do when I take pictures, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Slow Sweet Summer So Long

necklace: Forever 21; top: Hollywood Ending merch;
overalls: Papaya; shoes: Converse

I mentioned in my last post that I'd be featuring some friends, and my first guest is Miya! This outfit is perfect for a season transition. The overalls and the sneakers are very reminiscent of fun-filled summer days, but the plum color of the crop top is very autumnal. The combination of the two seasonal elements is very appropriate for this time of year, especially because the calendar says fall, but the weather says mid-July.

Modern Prep

bow tie: Michael Kors; top: Love Tree; skirt: Cotton On; shoes: Guess

I haven't posted in forever because I underestimated how busy I would be with school. BUT I'm making up for it with special guests! My plan is to occasionally do full posts on my friends' outfits so there's more variety on my blog. We'll see how that goes! Onto this outfit! I pulled out my bow tie and tied my hair up in a neat bun to create a preppy vibe. To keep things from being too school girl, I wore a printed skirt and stuck with a modern monochrome color scheme-- which I had to juxtapose with a hot pink lip. I really love how much a difference a little detail like lipstick can do. It's funny how much influence the tiniest things can have.

Good Vibes

bandanna: Michael's; vest: Banana Republic;
dress: Cotton On; shoes: Aldo

I was going for something mildly bohemian today what with the knit vest and the tribal print dress. Just trying to grasp on to the last few moments of summer! Just kidding, summer lasts until like mid-October around here (which I love). Wow, that went kind of tangent...

t-shirt: original by me; shorts: American Rag; shoes: Guess

Mondays kind of suck, so I decided to wear my "ew get away" t-shirt. It seemed very suitable, especially because today was so gray and humid. I wore my hair in a fun curly ponytail to keep myself from looking too depressing.

Happy Friday

headband: Jo-Ann's; top: Aeropostale; skirt: ASOS; shoes; Aldo

This outfit doesn't come off as well in photos. It's probably because I'm slightly un-photogenic, which is only made worse by the fact that I'm just an oily mess by time school ends. But I'm not sorry because I am proud of who I am! Just kidding, but really. Moving on, I thought that wearing a long skirt to school would be inconvenient, but it's so comfortable! In classrooms, it tends to be really cold, so when I'm in a desk, I just tuck my legs into my skirt and it's like having a blanket! Not the most lady like thing I can do, but it feels so right! Another thing that feels right (casual transition) is being back in school. I'm the kind of person who can't handle wasting time, so when I'm sitting around all day I get slightly anxious. Going to class and interacting with other humans has been good for me, though I'm sure I'll be singing a different song once homework starts piling up. For now, though, I'm happy.

Preppy Hey

shirt: Tommy Hilfiger; skirt: Forever 21;
bag: BCBGeneration; shoes: Converse

School just started and I'm already busy, which is why I didn't get to post yesterday. Sorry! I genuinely felt kind of bad because it felt like I broke some sort of promise. But let's move on! In honor of back to school, I went for a slightly preppy look. Not really, I just decided to wear a polo shirt. I feel like the braided updo contributed to the preppy vibe though, so yeah. I'm going to go to homework now. Farewell.

1st Day

shirt: original by me; skirt: eBay+DIY; shoes: Guess

This is me in a tree. I don't have time to write much, but I wanted to share my first day outfit and let you know that I plan on posting all my outfits from the first week. So minimal writing, but lots of outfits to come!
